How soon to go back to work?

I'm getting a rhinoplasty on a Thursday and I'm wondering if it's too soon to return to work on a Monday. I work in a call center, sitting at a computer for an 8 hour shift. Since I'm not seen by the public, I don't care about going to work with a splint, bruising, etc. I'm a dispatcher and my shift is very slow, I spend about 90% of my shift killing time. Considering the type of work I do, is it possible I could return to work on Monday after having surgery on Thursday?

It is possible to go back to work in the type of situation you work in. You might feel a bit tired as your body expends a lot of energy to heal.

Thanks for your question - I would say you should be fine to return to work for Monday after reading about your job duties.  Other workers would see bruising and a splint if you have that on after surgery.  Best of luck!

The only two impediments to you returning to work a few days after rhinoplasty are: 1) energy level; everyone has a different response to surgery;2) nasal congestion.  If you are congested or have nasal packing in place your voice will not be normal
