It looks like your belly button has necroses which can occasionally happen. I would advice oral antibiotics, regular showering and dressing changes and anticipate that it will take about 6 weeks to heal. Best of luck.
Every surgeon has different post op care instructions, I would tell my patients to keep it dry and covered with gauze and not to apply any ointments. It will heal in time.best wishes.
Dear vwood002,this type of wound is not uncommon after tummy tuck. It is usually caused by poor blood flow. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon, follow your surgeon's instructions and keep your wound clean and covered. It can take few weeks or months for wound to fully heal. Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. The best treatment is to keep the area clean and covered with a thick emollient like Aquaphor and a non-adherent gauze. This will allow for your body to slowly heal itself from the inside-out. I would maintain close contact with your surgeon to ensure no further healing issues.
It is best to follow your physicians' instructions. If you are unhappy with their recommended treatment protocol then it is best to discuss it directly with them.
It would be best to have a non-adhesive covering for protection against infection. Each surgeon has his/her own protocols regarding post-op management and your surgeon would be your best resource of information regarding wound care.
Thank you for your question. Look like some healing issue. Keep it clean and cover with a non adherent gauze. Every physician has their preference of management. I recommend to follow your PS instructions for local wound care
The color is likely not a reason for concern but talk with your plastic surgeon about his or her opinion. Every surgeon has different recommendations but it's important that you know what's happening with your own body.
Thank you for your question and submitting your photos. Your are still quite early in the recovery process and the residual swelling may take longer to fully resolve. If you are concerned about any aspect of your recovery it is always best and safest to talk to your surgeon and...
My advice to you is this....Don't ask about a tummy tuck because no insurance will cover it. Ask if your insurance will cover a Panniculectomy (the insurance version of a TT). Now have your primary card doctor document your problems with your excess skin. Do you have fungal infections within ...
Hello and thank you for the question. I would suggest you clear this with your surgeon. Generally speaking, I allow my patients to have Motrin or Ibuprofen 48 hours after tummy tuck, but different surgeons have different opinions about this and you should ask your plastic surgeon. Be...
It is still early on in your recovery and you may still be affected by swelling. Please allow at least 6 months to pass before assessing your results, and continue to follow your surgeon’s post-op instructions to help with the process.
