It looks like your belly button has necroses which can occasionally happen. I would advice oral antibiotics, regular showering and dressing changes and anticipate that it will take about 6 weeks to heal. Best of luck.
Every surgeon has different post op care instructions, I would tell my patients to keep it dry and covered with gauze and not to apply any ointments. It will heal in time.best wishes.
Dear vwood002,this type of wound is not uncommon after tummy tuck. It is usually caused by poor blood flow. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon, follow your surgeon's instructions and keep your wound clean and covered. It can take few weeks or months for wound to fully heal. Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. The best treatment is to keep the area clean and covered with a thick emollient like Aquaphor and a non-adherent gauze. This will allow for your body to slowly heal itself from the inside-out. I would maintain close contact with your surgeon to ensure no further healing issues.
It is best to follow your physicians' instructions. If you are unhappy with their recommended treatment protocol then it is best to discuss it directly with them.
It would be best to have a non-adhesive covering for protection against infection. Each surgeon has his/her own protocols regarding post-op management and your surgeon would be your best resource of information regarding wound care.
Thank you for your question. Look like some healing issue. Keep it clean and cover with a non adherent gauze. Every physician has their preference of management. I recommend to follow your PS instructions for local wound care

This situation needs to be evaluated by your surgeon. If a seroma has formed your surgeon can aspirate it in the office to help it resolve. Contact your surgeon's office to advise of your concern to see if they would like to see you earlier.
A tummy tuck is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by Medicare or other insurance. If you are experiencing medical issues I encourage you to visit with your primary care physician for an evaluation and treatment. If interested in a tummy tuck many surgeons can get you in touch...
This question needs to be answered by your surgeon. She/He is most familiar with the details of your surgery, how you've been progressing through recovery, and your health history. Some surgeons suggest ibuprofen and other NSAIDs be avoided for a period of time after surgery, but this opinion...
Congratulations on your surgery! Yes you will be able to return to your previous activity level once fully healed. I advise patients with no complications they can begin low impact exercise after four weeks and return to strenuous activities after six weeks. It is important to go slowly when...
I know it is hard to be patient but more time is needed before judging your results. Swelling from surgery is common and expected and can take several weeks to resolve. Continue to closely follow the instructions from your surgeon and discuss any concerns. If needed, revisions can be done...
