Can experiences surgeons actually visualize how the changes will aesthetically improve the patients looks? I have bumped into a few surgeons that don't use computer simulations or hand made drawings.
Answer: Rhinoplasty Simulations. Hello, and thank you for your question. Some surgeons send simulations to their potential patients. I do not believe simulations are realistic. We can show different options for our patients during the simulation but the result will never be the same. The main point here is to discuss the patient's expectations and concerns. Sometimes patients bring us pictures that they would like and we can have an understanding of their wishes. Bear in mind that everyone has different cartilage, bone, and skin structure therefore it's not possible to achieve similar results 100%. The key to a successful outcome is to choose an experienced surgeon. Make sure you do a lot of research and read reviews when deciding to proceed with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Can an experienced surgeon visualize the aesthetic changes that a rhinoplasty will bring? Can an experienced surgeon visualize the aesthetic changes that a rhinoplasty will bring? an experienced surgeon can look at a nose and know exactly what changes he would like to bring about and can easily determine in his minds eye how he will go about doing that. His experience with similar noses in the past is a far more reliable determinant of the outcome than any computer imaging. A novice can draw or image on the computer the perfect nose every time, But can’t necessarily produce it in the operating room. Experience, good aesthetic taste, and a keen aesthetic Eye are far more reliable than computer imaging.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Visualization Hi there! Some surgeons choose not to use morphing or any photography. I don't prescribe to this approach. I feel like morphing and photos help to convey what changes can be made to ensure both parties are on the same page. I believe all rhinoplasty surgeons have to have a "vision", but they should be able to communicate it effectively. Part of our job is to obtain trust. Showing what you can do is one way. Hope this helps!

Answer: Rhinoplasty I think computer simulations are done as sell jobs. Better you should look at patients the surgeon has done who are similar to you. And find a highly experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.

Answer: Assessment potential of rhinoplasty postoperative look preoperatively Hi and welcome to our forum! If one is aware of the intricate structures of the nose and all of its components and how they each contribute to nasal shape, one can usually determine what can and what cannot be achieved through surgery. Computer simulations are basically alterations in a photograph modified digitally. There is no correlation to actual anatomy. If used, it may allow the surgeon to learn more precisely what the patient desires, not necessarily what can be accomplished in real life. It allows for a discussion between surgeon and patient to ensure realistic expectations. Handmade drawings also demonstrate what the patient desires, not what can actually be accomplished (and if a poor artist, may be totally deceiving!). One can use a grease pencil on a photograph to draw a desired result as well. Many plastic surgeons do not use these methods. It would be wise to look at the surgeon's own pre and postoperative rhinoplasty photograph albums to see representative results. Best wishes...
