Other than using the standard rules of partitioning the nose and 'defined' angles for projection and rotation, what else do plastic surgeons use to create the most aesthetically please nose for patients ?

The best rhinoplasty surgeons don’t need to measure angles and stuff like that. They have the ability to SEE what is aesthetically pleasing. Surgeons who need to break it down mathematically often don’t have the visual aesthetics required.. if you have to measure things you are lost before you started.

Hi @sweet_lavendar! This is a great question. A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. Best of Luck, Dr. Nima!

What tools do plastic surgeons use to obtain the most aesthetically pleasing rhinoplasty results?The most effective tools for obtaining the most aesthetically pleasing rhinoplasty results are experience, good aesthetic taste, a keen aesthetic eye, and an understanding from the patient about his/her wishes and expectations. many surgeons rely entirely on these “tools“. Some use textbook angles and measurements, but the latter are less effective if the former skills are not present.
