It will be more convenient for you to book a place to stay closer to the hospital you will have your operation. In my practice, we arrange everything from airport transfer to hotel stay for our patients as a package so the whole process is comfortable for them. Good luck.
I recommend patients stay within a short drive from the office, that way if they have any issues there is the option of seeing them in person, especially for the immediate postop period. I would recommend asking the surgeon's office their policy on this.
If you are having your nose done outside of where you live ask the surgeons staff for recommendations. They may even have discount deals for their patients
Booking lodging near the surgeons office: many of my patients come from “fly in”distance. We usually recommend that they stay within a half hour or so ride from the office and surgery center. However some have relatives that are further than that and others, for other reasons stay further than that. Since they will be coming to the surgery center and office by car, whether it is a 10 minute ride or a 30 or 40 minute ride really is not that material.
Great question since my practice is 80% OOT patients, I prefer lodging within 30 minutes to my office. But 30 minutes on goggle is really an hour! So now I recommend within 2 zip codes of the office. Some patients stay on Miami Beach and have 1 hour each way to drive to see me. Better to forgo a vacation and treat this as a surgery recovery experience.
