Seeking medical advice on any known risks for patients diagnosed with MGUS. Are there any certified surgeons that have performed Lipo/BBL procedures on patients with precursory diagnosis. I am currently not receiving treatment nor taking medication. I have my levels checked quarterly and no changes. Seeking recommendations and willing to travel.
Answer: Seeking advice on lipo & BBL for person diagnosed with MGUS? Hello @msgirl2017 thank you for your question. Is important you consult with your hematologist, if you have your doctor approval and your plastic surgeon is on board you can have your surgery. Keep in mind that for any surgery you want to undergo, you need to be in good health, which reduces the risks in the operating room. I suggest you consult with several board certified plastic surgeon. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS

Answer: BBL candidate Dear msgirl2017, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: BBL Candidate Granted you are given medical clearance by your primary doctor, you are eligible for high definition VASER liposuction and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). If you are a good candidate (less than 5L of fat) for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD,FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Bone marrow disorders You’re going to need clearance from a hematologist and plastic surgeons may or may not feel comfortable doing the procedure. If the disorder has not cost any significant disease or symptoms then you might be fine for the procedure the plastic surgeons get to make their own decisions about who they feel comfortable operating on. Looking for a plastic surgeon who treated a patient with the same disorder isn’t probably as wise as simply finding the most talented plastic surgeons and letting your hematologist manage your MUGS. When it comes to that disorder the plastic surgeon isn’t going to get involved at all. Look for the most talented experienced plastic surgeon in your community and check if they’re willing to do the procedure if you get medical clearance. I recommend having in person consultations at which time you can get an accurate assessment and good understanding of what can or cannot be achieved as well as a discussion about your medical history. Traveling long distances for elective procedures is not something I recommend unless absolutely necessary. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
