I have sunken hollow area right under my cheek bone only on my left side. As I age, it’s become more hollow, making my left cheekbone more prominent. I have smile lines only on left side due to my skin sagging from hollow cheek. Would fillers fill out that area or will it not even show because there is no bone under the cheekbone? What about fat graft? Which would be better solution? I do not want a big bottom of face. I only want that sunken area to look like my right side.

Answer: Volume correction Based on these images, it is not possible to give you more meaningful advise beside filler augmenation of hallow areas. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in facial rejuvenation, is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Sunken, hollow area hinder the cheek bone Fillers or fat grafting could be effective options to address the sunken area under your left cheekbone. These treatments involve injecting a substance (such as hyaluronic acid filler or your own fat) into the area to add volume and fill out the hollowed-out area. The goal is to restore symmetry and balance to your facial features. In terms of which option would be better for you, it's best to consult with a qualified and experienced medical professional who can evaluate your specific needs and make a personalized recommendation. Both fillers and fat grafting have their advantages and disadvantages, and the best choice will depend on factors such as the amount of volume needed, the location of the sunken area, and your individual anatomy. Fillers tend to be a popular choice for addressing sunken areas in the face because they are non-surgical, relatively quick, and require little to no downtime. However, fillers may only last for several months to a year, and you will need to have additional treatments to maintain the results. Additionally, fillers may not provide as much volume as fat grafting. Fat grafting involves taking fat from one area of your body (usually the abdomen or thighs) and injecting it into the sunken area under your cheekbone. This treatment can provide more significant and longer-lasting results than fillers, as the fat cells that are transferred become a permanent part of the body. However, fat grafting is a surgical procedure that requires some downtime for recovery. Again, it's essential to work with a qualified and experienced medical professional who can evaluate your specific needs and recommend the best treatment option for you. They will be able to discuss the pros and cons of each treatment and help you make an informed decision based on your goals and individual anatomy. Best of luck ! Randal Haworth from LA
