Your primary issue right now is a loss of volume in your face. This can be improved with Sculptra, which not only restores volume but improves your skin quality by stimulating your skin to produce more strengthening collagen and elastin. In addition, you could benefit from some laser resurfacing to give your skin more of a healthy glow. Combination treatment is almost always the best approach to counter the effects of aging and create a beautiful and healthy-looking rejuvenation. My office is in San Diego. Feel free to contact me for an in-person or Skype consultation.
Sculptra is good for building collagen, but lacks skin tightening. A combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with skin tightening for the face. I recommend J Plasma, lasers (Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant, Co2), fillers, microneedling/prp, ultherapy and rf treatments to get the best outcomes. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
If you are interested in tightening your skin Ultherapy would be the better choice. This is a great procedure for tightening.
Based on the photo provided it seems you would be a good candidate for both procedures. I prefer using Thermage for skin tightening of the jaw and neckline. Thermage is a non-invasive, radiofrequency device that often gives immediate skin tightening that continues to improve for up to 6 months. Sculptra will not give you skin tightening, but it will stimulate your skin to produce collagen in the areas injected. This can be placed in areas where volume has been lost due to the natural aging process. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who can create a plan tailored to your needs.
hi based on your age and pictures, you are a candidate to do both but for different reasons. ultherapy is a nonsurgical face/neck/eye lift procedure. it is usually done once a year to tighten and your skin and muscle. depending on your pain tolerance, different anesthesia is available such as muscular injection of anesthetics to intravenous injections of anesthetics. as for sculptra, it is a filler but unlike juvederm or other HA fillers which plump you up immediately and over time goes away, sculptra is like planting a seed....over time it "grows"/collagen forms but need multiple treatments to achieve whatever you end goal is. the treatments are done every 6-8 weeks. it would be best to see a plastic surgeon who does a lot of ultherapy and fillers. if non surgical treatments are not for you, then surgical treatments can be discussed. hope this helps.
Hi andthanks for the question.Generally,Sculptra works best to provide volume/replace lost volume in the aging face.People who eat healthy and/or exercise a great deal, tend to lose volumeearlier than the average adult and, therefore, benefit the most from Sculptra.Loss of volume can certainly worsen skin laxity and replacement of volume canprovide some significant improvement in skin laxity. On the other hand, Ultherapy primarily tightens the skinsurface without adding significant soft tissue volume. In some cases, Ultherapycan provide good results when used alone. However, I find that most patientshave increasing volume inadequacy after age 40 and get more benefit with acombination of a volumizer, and a good minimally invasive laser treatment ofthe skin. I hope this helps.
Hi Jackie. Regardless of your weight, Sculptra is an excellent product to stimulate the production of your own collagen. It will not replace fat lost if you lose weight, but it will replace the fat loss with collagen production. We find Sculptra to be best for patients that are volume depleted.
Sculptra is a collagen stimulator that keeps you looking lifted and refreshed for up to two-and-a-half years with a series of treatments. However, I usually suggest a top-off at the year mark to maintain your look. After age 30, we lose one tablespoon of fat from the face per year, so volume...
I would not recommend using Sculptra to add volume to the upper eyelid or the lower eyelid. The skin is very thin in the eyelids and it is possible to develop long standing visible irregularities using Sculptra in this area.
Sculptra does a wonderful job of filling out lost volume in the temples. It’s a collagen stimulator, so it will stimulate your body to produce more of your own, strengthening collagen and elastin. The results can last for up to two years, though you may want to touch up at the year to y...
It is normal to be paying for Sculptra in advance of the treatment because the doctor has to mix it up at least 48-72 hours in advance of your treatment and then those vials are mixed for you. With that being said, we usually get a pre-payment for each treatment session, rather than the whole ...
Keloids develop in skin after injury to the skin layers. I have never seen or heard of a keloid developing from small needle sticks. Two vials of sculptra is a routine injection amount.
