After a hair restoration procedure, the protocol is to irrigate the grafts frequently in the first week following a hair transplant. This limits the scabbing and crusting in the transplanted areas, allowing the hairs to grow without trying to fight through a large crusty scab. If you followed the directions, and there is not much scabbing, it is very unlikely you damaged any grafts that long after a procedure. Typically at day 5, if one has been diligent with the irrigation of the new grafts, they are considered "healed" in, and unless there was a great deal of bleeding, it is nothing to worry about.
It is unlikely that this would result in a regrowth issue at this point. Typically after 5 to 6 days the transplanted follicles have integrated into your scalp. Keep in mind that the grafts will now enter into a dormant phase and you will not begin to see regrowth for about 4 months.
Trauma to the area of transplanted hair can cause hair loss or damage to the recently transplanted hair. However, this is all generalities and without an exam it is impossible to tell. In general, small bumps should not be an issue.
That is unfortunate.Did it bleed?Did you see any follicles dislodge? It would be unlikely at 7 days, hopefully that is comforting to you.Feel free to upoad pics for a clearer understanding.John Frank, MD
After 7 days the grafts are likely not going anywhere. By this time you can shampoo and clean like normal scalp. So it is extremely unlikely that you damaged the grafts. However, if there is a specific area where you may have developed a hematoma (accumulation of blood beneath the skin) or break in the skin, have the doctor who performed the procedure check out the site. Good luck.
You should be fine after 7 days from hair transplant. Your transplanted hair will most likely behave like native hair at this point. That means the grafts are not dislodgeable and even if you try to pull hair, follicle will stay and generate a new hair after a few months.
Be sure to speak to your surgeon and have him or her carefully examine your scalp. It's hard to know if any damage will come of such an injury as the first 10 days are very important. There is of course a very good chance everything will be fine. Check with your surgeon for a look now. The only thing that can be done is to wait and see in 8-10 months if diminished growth has occurred in an area.
You are cutting it close but i think you will be ok at this point. A follow up with your doctor wouldnt be a bad idea though.
with no bleeding and no grafts coming out, the bump will have no consequence. Don't worry but be more careful. Anything heavier than a simple bump could cause problems.
It usually takes a few days for the transplanted hair to settle. Around seven days you are usually safe, specially if there were no bleeding or visible grafts pulled out.
Dear TheoBlakeThanks for the question. There is no age limit as such for a hair transplantation. But people under the age group of 18 years to 80 years usually options for hair transplantation as the symptoms of balding and spot balding occur within this span of life. I wish you all the best.
If your skin is not too much sensitive you can shave after 3 months, but it is better to leave them grow. And can cut with scisors after 2 weeks
Cobble stoning are uncommon side effects of hair transplants and they happen with larger than normal amount of tissue is moved to the recipient area. The best treatment is repeated shaving of the area (shaving excision of the cobblestoned area) under supervision of a surgeon who is...
