Will my migrated lip filler eventually resolve? (photos)

Swelling in the face can last months. This is particularly true around the eyes, nose, and mouth. It is unlikely that this is scarring or anything permanent. I would give it time before pursuing any other treatment, at least 6 months.

Thank you for sharing your detailed history and photos. From what you’ve described, it sounds like you experienced filler migration fairly early, which was appropriately addressed with hyaluronidase dissolving treatments. After two sessions, most or all of the filler should be gone, especially given that only a small amount (0.6 mL) was originally placed.

What you’re noticing now is less likely to be residual filler and more likely related to temporary changes in the tissue. This can include:

Skin stretching or laxity: Even small amounts of filler can create mild stretching, especially in delicate lip tissue.

Post-procedure swelling or inflammation: Sometimes there’s lingering tissue swelling that can take weeks to fully settle.

Scar tissue or fibrotic changes: Although uncommon, some patients can form subtle scar tissue after filler or dissolving treatments, which may leave an uneven texture.

Over time, the lips usually continue to heal and remodel. It is very likely that what you’re seeing will soften and improve gradually in the coming months. Gentle massage, good hydration, and allowing your lips time to recover are often enough.

The reassuring part is that with such a small amount of filler and multiple dissolving sessions, it’s unlikely that there’s still a significant amount of product left. What you are seeing is likely tissue adjusting and healing rather than lingering filler.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you had with filler. Depending on the filler used, it will take approximately six months to a year for it to be gradually metabolized. You can consider further hyaluronidase treatments if desired.

Sometimes HA fillers can lead to long-term contour changes that are not explainable. Personally, I don’t believe fillers migrate.
The term is a poor excuse for simply injecting badly.
I’m generally cautious about overfilling the upper lip, especially along the vermillion.
At this point I suggest giving this time.
If reversal injection did not produce the change you wanted then doing more of the same makes little sense. Try to find some pictures of your lips pre filler and always include before and after pics them possible.
I don’t think there is any good solution than giving this more time.
