I am 61 years old and had a breast lift and implants eight years ago. Since then, I had some medical issues that were non-related. I gained alot of weight being sedentary During this time frame. I have since lost the weight, however, the upper pole of my breast have definitely fallen as a result. I don’t necessarily want a breast lift again. Is it possible to put some type of stitch or tack in in the upper pole to hold the breast up?
Answer: Stitch or Tack I would recommend a revision breast lift with a lateral bra line/back lift as well to address the excess skin on the sides. I would recommend seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience/adequate training in breast surgery.

Answer: Breast lift The results you are wanting as demonstrated by holding your breast up with your hand can only be achieved through another breast lift. You can consider adding mesh to give your tissue more support from the weight of the implants. I've included a video on the use of mesh that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: 8 years since breast lift, are there any alternatives to a revision that can help hold my breast up? Based on the posted photos it appears that you would benefit from a revision extended mastopexy/lift, which may include implant removal and replacement with smaller implants. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS

Answer: 8 years since breast lift, are there any alternatives to a revision that can help hold my breast up? Hello @lorenruby, thank you for your question. Right now I'm not aware of any alternatives to a revision when it comes to to get the results you want. The combination of age, gravity and any weight gain or loss can have an effect on how the breast looks over time. In order to maintain good upper pole projection in the long-term, a breast lift is necessary. A breast lift is a procedure which removes excess skin and reshapes the breasts for better projection and contouring. It can help reduce sagging and restore some youthful volume to your breasts but should be performed by an experienced plastic surgeon with knowledge about anatomy and different techniques used in this particular kind of surgery. i always perform a breast lif with BRALift technique. I link a video to shed more light. The ultimate determination of the most appropriate procedure should be made in consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you and determine a surgical plan according to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: Revision surgery Dear lorenruby, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.
