Why is my face not returning to normal? Is it possible for Juvederm to cause permanent issues?

Thank you for your question.  I'm sorry you are dealing with this problem.   Filler under the eye can be tricky.  You probably need more hyaluronidase injected.  Be sure you are seeing an experienced injector; if this in fact filler it should be dissolvable.  There are cases of scar tissue and nodules post filler.    Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your question. I understand your concern. I would recommend for you to follow up with your doctor and discuss hyaluronidase. Juvederm Ultra can last over a year on some patients. If you have had multiple filler on top of filler then it ends up building up on each other. Hope this information helps.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and I am sorry to hear of your difficulties following filler placement.  Any filler can last for a much longer period of time in the undereyes, especially if a large deposit was accidentally placed initially.  I would see your injector about having additional hyaluronidase injected to remove residual filler to restore your previous appearance.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question. If this was me, I would highly recommend going back more than once and get them all dissolved. Very rare but granuloma can form causing those bumps. Therefore have them inject Hylenex to reverse it. I've injected fillers to under eyes all the time however I use a product call Versa. Less swelling occurs with this. Best of luck!

It has been my firm belief for the last 20 years plus that no hyaluronic acid fillers should ever be injected into the lower eyelids (unless the the skin there is unusually thick), because overtime a bag will form one way or another. Juvederm will not dissipate over time in the lower eyelid area and may in fact be permanent in a large number of patients. You need to have more than one treatment using hyaluronidase to dissolve the product. Once the Juvederm is gone I would recommend considering using autologous fat grafting which will create natural and near permanent results. Make sure you find a plastic surgeon who is extremely well-versed in fat grafting techniques. You have a correctable problem of too much filler or too much hydration. Proper placement of filler under the eye is an advanced injection technique requiring anatomical knowledge, expert injection skills and an artistic eye.  
Even in skilled hands overfilling may occur because the hydration state of every patient varies somewhat. There is skill in the removal of the excess as well. 
Before the procedure is performed, you should be informed of this complication so that if it occurs you can address it immediately.
That being said, it is important to follow up with your injecting physician for correction as it is an ongoing process until you are corrected.
