Is the Ideal implant back on the market now?

Thank you for your question. Many patients like you have been waiting for the Ideal Implant to return to market. After making a small change in the manufacturing of the Ideal Implants, there is a requirement for the FDA to review and approve this. The company has been manufacturing implants during this period and is ready to return to market. The FDA has given them a verbal approval two weeks ago, but the company must wait for written approval before distributing the implants to doctors and surgery centers.
We are all anxiously awaiting the return of the Ideal  breast implants, especially with the recall  of textured implants in the USA, there is an even greater demand from patients for a smooth wall implant option.

The Ideal implant was temporarily unavailable in order to get further approval by the FDA after the company voluntarily identified a small issue with the valve. They are now completely available but some sizes are "back ordered" because of such high demand.

Yes Ideal Implants have been placed back on the market over the last couple of weeks. They are readily available and have FDA approval.

I am hopeful that the Ideal implants will be available this quarter. However, as we all have learned, the FDA will allow the continued sale of Ideal implants when it feels confident that it should. It is an excellent product and a valid replacement for silicone implants. Speculation on the part of surgeons is unfortunately, wishful thinking.

so if you are patient and want it, then sit tight and wait.  They only come in the high profile style so if you have a wide chest or wide breasts, this is not the best choice for you unless you are going with a large size.  Gel implants are readily available and will not deflate on you.  I find them much more appealing over the saline implant, including Ideal.

My impression is that the FDA has been tied up with the Allergan implant recall and just hasn't gotten around to it yet.  I've not received an update recently but should be in the next couple of months.
