I am 4wpo from arm lipo. My compression sleeve garment was way too tight which I wore for 10 days. Did that delay my recovery?

allend2 So sorry to hear about your problems with your elastic garment after liposuction. These garments should be snug but never so tight that they cause pain similar to that which you unfortunately experienced. If you are still having issues with your arms, you should probably not wear the garment at all until improvement is realized. Sounds like you should also see your plastic surgeon before February 23 for a full evaluation. Good luck!

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal.

Thanks for your question. Not to worry. You did not do any long-term injury. Compression is useful after liposuction, but surgeons disagree on the degree of compression and the duration. I personally recommend light-moderate compression for about a week or so. Beyond that, many patients actually like the feeling it provides when they continue after that, but certainly we do not have any definitive science that tells us, "this is the only way it can be done." I'd recommend using your surgeon's guidelines. Best wishes
