Can I get by with high profile implants instead of a lift? (photos)

Thank you for your question.  Looking at your photos I would suggest for the best results to do a breast augmentation with a silicone gel implant under the muscle and a breast lift.  This will allow your surgeon to give your perkier breasts and better shaped breasts.  You could just place the implant and wait it out and see how much of a lift you do get by just adding an implant.  My thought is you will get a little lift but still have a bit of a droop to the breasts.  I would suggest seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you, discuss your options and answer any questions you may have.  Best of luck to you.

Based on your photos it looks like you would be best served with a combination of breast lift with augmentation.  The parameters of both the breast lift and the position of the breast implants should be designed to keep the implants relatively low while lifting the breast tissue and nipple to sit directly over the implants.  Many techniques exist in breast surgery, and combined lifting with augmentation is especially tricky.  The key is working with an expert, board certified plastic surgeon.

Thank you for your post and photos. Although it's difficult to determine without examining you in-person, it appears that you may benefit most from a breast lift in combination with a breast implant placement.  Placement of implants alone, might not give you a satisfying result. 
As always, I recommend that you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon and have a thorough discussion of your concerns, goals and desired outcome. Your surgeon will be able to provide more accurate advice to help you achieve the look you want. It might also be of help to choose a provider who offers 3D animation software, so you can virtually see how you may look like after surgery, with an augmentation only, and an augmentation with a lift.

Your nipples are located below your breast fold, so a lift would be recommended. Without a lift, your implants would sit unnaturally low on your chest and you’ll most likely be dissatisfied with your results.

Your photos suggest that a lift would be of benefit to position the nipple and areolar complex over the center of the breast mound. A high profile implant alone would not be enough to centralize the nipple. While you can proceed with an augmentation alone, you would be accepting that the nipple would be lower than ideal. That is not to say that the scars associated with a mastopexy are perfect either. One has to decide which of the two is more favorable. In my experience, most patients in your situation are more satisfied with an aug/lift (perkier breast with breast lift scars) than with an aug alone (breast droop but less scars), but it is worth exploring both options.

Hello, in cases when the nipples are lower than the centre of the breasts but not at the very bottom of the breasts, I find it is very important to have a long discussion with my patient to determine their goals and expectations.  Implants alone (even high profile) do not actually lift the nipples although they can add more overall fullness and projection.  Some patients are happy with this appearance while other actually want the nipples in a higher position.  It is important to discuss your goals and tolerance of additional scars associated with breast lift surgery so your surgeon can provide proper advice.

Hi there and thank you for your pictures I do feel you would need a breast lift either way. You certainly can use a high profile implant but I feel you will still need a breast lift.  Some doctors may wanna put in a really large implant on top of the muscle to try and avoid the lift however I do not feel that will give you a long-term result. Plus the weight of that implant if it is placed above the muscle will stretch out your skin in a relatively short amount of time. As always I recommend seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Hello,Thank you for your question. Based on your photos you will achieve the best results from the combination of the breast augmentation and lifting. The ideal size can be set only during in person examination taking into consideration your chest wall, weight and body proportions. The decision of the implant's place made depending on your breast tissue. I personally prefer inframammarial approach, which is also the most common technique in the world, as this allows the most beautiful shape of breasts on one hand and minimizes potential complications in the post-operative process on the other hand.
