Bruising and swelling is normal after tear trough injections. Taking Arnica can help reduce swelling a bit faster but to ensure everything is okay, I would suggest you follow up with your injector Kenneth Hughes MD

Thank you for your question. It is common to have some swelling and bruising after injection of fillers to the tear trough area which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can apply cold compresses to the treated area to help reduce any swelling and bruising. If you are unhappy with your final results you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. I recommend having a follow up with your injector in 2 weeks for an evaluation and to address any concerns you may have. Best of Luck!

When tear trough area is injected, common side effects include swelling and bruising. In most patients such swelling will resolve within 1-2 weeks, so I would suggest waiting such period of time before trying to dissolve it. Of course, if such swelling persists hyaluronidase may be used (most patients tolerate it safely, as long as you don't have a history bee sting allergy).
