Why do I feel a pinch in a nerve, some numbness running down my leg 1 year after BBL?

Question

I had a bbl 1 year ago. I was happy with results and had no complications. As of late, I feel a gentle pain (as if I’m bruised) in my left buttcheek and sometimes feel numbness running down my leg. I have no clue what it can be and how to treat it.

Dear gutierrezK,
during BBL procedure fat is transferred under the skin and above the muscles while nerves go through muscle so surgeon doesn't have any contact with nerves. Based on your description, you might have problem with your lower back. I would suggest you to consult your doctor and get an examination.

These symptoms may not be related to your BBL procedure. Please have a Neurologist examine you and advise you regarding the pain and numbness in the leg. All The Best !

If you did not have these symptoms early after your BBL and then most likely this is not related to the procedure. Would you describe sounds like fairly classic sciatica which most of the time comes from pressure on nerve roots as the exit to spine far way from where you had fat grafting. Talk to your primary care doctor and ask for a work up for sciatica. This generally includes overall back health. To get a definitive diagnosis you will need an MRI of your spine.  Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
