gyno surgery performed exactly 1 year ago. had moderate gynecomastia. No skin excision, only glandular excision & liposuction of the chest. I believe this is scar tissue & not left over gland. located beneath the nipple on both side. & a bulk amount of scar tissue on inner center side of left nipple that is most visible from upper view & when cold. Right has more on outer center side of nipple. Can revision surgery be successful & done under local anesthesia to get rid of this?
Answer: Irregularities after gynecomastia reduction It is relatively frequent to see irregularities and asymmetry after gynecomastia surgery. In that case, after deformity is established and mature, revision surgery by means of direct excision or liposuction should be considered. Talk to your surgeon about this next step. good luck.

Answer: Gynecomastia results Dear tiredeyes89, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Assessing the outcome of the procedure In order for us to assess the outcome of a procedure we need to see before and after pictures. Your results may be acceptable and should not have a revision based on what you looked like before or the procedure may have been insufficient. I think your welcome is related to how tissue was removed and not the formation of scar tissue. Revision surgery can be done using local anesthesia if the surgeon prefers to do it that way. I would make sure you’re working with someone who is a board-certified plastic surgeon with many years of experience and a proven track record for gynecomastia surgery. This typically means during in person consultation the provider can show you an impressive collection of before and after pictures typically at least 50 sets of these pictures should be sufficient to show they have lots of experience. Otherwise follow up with your provider or start having in person consultations. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Yes i believe this can be done by an experience board certified plastic surgeon under local You really need to be examined in person but I believe that this can be improved (always aim for improvement rather than a perfect result) with surgery done under local anesthetic. I like to give some oral sedation as well to keep the patient more relaxed. You should be able to return to work the next day. see a board certified plastic surgeon with experience and an interest in gynecomastia. david berman md, frcsc
