Hello, I'm 5'0" at 105 lbs. I've always had bigger legs than my upper body. I got liposuction on my inner and outer thighs along with my calves about two years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't get any results from that, even though he took out a good amount of fat. My butt is really large for my body and makes my legs look even shorter- it sticks out far. I know butt lipo is controversial is there anything that will help make it smaller. Is there any lipo to make my legs smaller?
Answer: Lower Leg Liposculpture to Calves / Ankles -- Microcannulas, Fat Removal, Skin Tightening + Coolsculpting / Kybella for Knees When we perform liposuction to the lower legs, microcannulas are used to remove fat very superficially without damaging the tissue or causing any scars or irregularities. Multiple energy devices are used to melt fat and tighten skin, which is especially needed in this small, sensitive area. Precision and skill is vital to get the best outcomes. Coolsculpting and Kybella are non-surgical options that can also be used for fat reduction in the knees. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert to determine the best course of treatment for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Liposuction Dear flowerhues, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would be a good candidate for liposuction. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Liposuction and buttocks Dear Flowerhues, unfortunately, I am not seeing what you are seeing. Youi have a fantastic figure and your legs and calves are just fine. The only area you have a little extra fat is your hips/lower back. If you are upset with your buttock projection, then liposuction of the buttocks is an option. Best wishes. Dr. Taranow

Answer: Liposuction Good morning and thank you for your question. All of us have a certain amount of adipose tissue (fat) under the skin, which sits on top of muscle tissue. In the buttocks area, liposuction could be effective at reducing the overall volume if there is enough fat under the skin to make a difference. If there is not much fat and the bulk of the buttocks area is mostly due to the underlying muscle, then liposuction would not help as much. Of course, as with anything, one has to be careful not to overdo things especially liposuction. Doing 'too much' liposuction in certain areas can lead to contour deformities. All and all, this would be something that could be discussed in detail at the time of consultation and physical exam. I hope this helps! -Dr. Polynice

Answer: Bottom heavy Your primary body shape is determined primarily by your skeletal structure and secondarily musculoskeletal structure. That distribution contributes a certain amount more and some people than others especially if they have an abnormal fat distribution. This in conjunction with obesity can make patients ideal candidate for Liposuction. In your case your lean and don’t have a lot of body fat and sound your body shape is more determined by musculoskeletal structure than it is my fat distribution. That really limits what can be done other than Liposuction which is going to be limited in terms of transformation. In other words Liposuction results will be subtle. That is often the case for lower extremity Liposuction. At least you have good quality skin that allows you to be a good candidate for Liposuction. I suggest getting before and after pictures of your procedure and having in person consultations for a possible second round of liposuction if you’re motivated and recognize that it will only be a partial improvement. It’s simply not possible to give you smaller pelvic bones. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
