I am a 22-year-old, 6'4", 200 lbs individual seeking a rhinoplasty consultation. I believe my nasolabial angle is too high, and I am looking to have my nasal tip straightened to align better with my nasal ridge. Additionally, I would like to know if there are other potential improvements or corrections that could enhance the overall appearance of my nose. I would appreciate a basic surgical plan and advice on the potential benefits of the procedure.
Answer: Rhinoplasty for tip derotation Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. Based on the images you submitted, it appears that you have a relatively high nasolabial angle and a moderately wide nasal tip and bridge on the front view. You mentioned wanting to slightly lengthen your nose and reduce the nasolabial angle. In terms of potential changes and derotation of the nasal tip, it’s important to understand that the cartilage present inside your nose is unlikely to be sufficient for the type of changes you wish to achieve. To provide the necessary structural support, one can consider options such as donor cartilage or autologous rib cartilage. These materials can help increase the nasal length, reduce the nostril show, and help to create a narrower appearance of the bridge and tip. To help you decide whether this overall appearance is what you are looking for, a consultation using computer imaging and simulation can be very beneficial. This will give you a better understanding of the magnitude of the changes required and help orient you towards achieving your desired outcome.

Answer: You appear to have a pleasing nasal appearance. Unfortunately, derotation of the nasal tip is it difficult proposition. In other words, it is difficult to move the tip of your nose down closer to your lip. Since you do not have a distracting nasal appearance, in my opinion, it may be best to leave your nose alone. I hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty to change shape... Based on your photos, you are a good candidate for rhinoplasty. The tip appears a bit high and overprojected. Bringing it down some would put it in better balance with your nasal bridge. It can be narrowed a bit at the same time while keeping it looking natural. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.
