6 months post op, my nostril gets irritated easily from the inside. Should I be worried?

Hello. It has been 6 months since my rhinoplasty and my left nostril still gets irritated easily on a septum side. Today I carried something that was a liitle heavy( nothing too much), and later I found some blood stains on a q-tip and my septum was red and little bloody when I looked inside. Is this something I should be worried about? Why are my blood vessels so fragile? P.S This only happens to my left nostril.

Nasal irritation and scant nose bleeding is not particularly worrisome. For evaluation and management, your surgeon may be an excellent resource, or perhaps and ENT specialist. Wishing you well. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

The only way to determine what’s going on inside your nose is a direct examination. Often the cause of bleeding is obvious and easy to take care of

What you describe is not uncommon.
It can be difficult to realign the tissues perfectly when doing the final closure in rhinoplasty surgery.
The surgeon has to place the stitches deep inside the nostril.
The only way to find out if there’s any abnormality, or if intervention is indicated, is with an intra-nasal examination.
