Is SculpSure worth it?

Great question, but not an easy answer, given the other information you shared about yourself.  When I am counseling a patient in my practice regarding SculpSure, I always preface my remarks with, "it will not be as dramatic a difference as liposuction, but....".  So, if you found that liposuction was less than satisfactory, then I am not sure what to tell you with regards to SculpSure.  In my experience, SculpSure does produce results, but it often takes two treatments and it is not as drastic as liposuction.  In their clinical studies, SculpSure was able to reduce the fat layer in the treated area by 24%.  That means that if you have a 1" layer of fat before, it will be a 3/4" layer after - and that's 12 weeks after, by the way.  If that is "worth it" to you, then go for it.

Sculpsure is a noninvasive 1060nm diode laser treatment that removes up to 25% of stubborn fat in the treated area in 25 minutes.It is FDA approved for the abdomen and flanks. It is safe if you get pregnant in the future.

The body contouring effects are seen in as quick as six weeks with final results at 12 weeks.

The results are permanent as long as you maintain your weight and health.

The laser targets and destroys the fat cells only which are then naturally removed from the body. Since the laser does not affect the skin or muscle it can be used on all skin colors and there has been no reported incidents of burns when treated by a properly trained physician. It is protective since it alternates heating and cooling.

It has four applicators that can be customized to treat the areas of stubborn fat.

If a second treatment is needed we wait at least six weeks and usually closer to 12.

If you notice lumps after (which I've never seen) I would recommend massage. You should also alert your surgeon.  No compression garment required.

There is no downtime and you can resume your normal activities right after the treatment. There may be some soreness in the area for a few days for which you can take ibuprofen or tylenol. A cold compress can also be used.

Sculpsure is not used for skin tightening however some of our patients have seen this. If more skin tightening is needed we have combined this with thermi or Ulthera for a complete treatment. Sculpsure is recommended for stubborn areas of fat that are not being lost by diet and exercise. It is not a weight loss treatment

Since I have both a coolsculpting and sculpsure I am working on protocols of utilizing both of these depending upon what areas need to be treated and the response to the treatment.

I have used sculpsure on other areas other than the abdomen with very good results.

I also use a Vectra 3D imaging system to try and show people what their treatment areas could look like.

Your best bet is probably lipo.  When well done, this will really remove the excess fat. at your BMI and with the fat in the areas that you are having trouble with, you would get results with SculpSure but you may need three or more treatments. It is less a question of the lipo not working, but of whoever did the lipo not doing it well enough.

Keep in mind, a combination of treatments is needed for best results with treatments like Sculpsure. I recommend combining Sculpsure or Coolsculpting with Vanquish and Venus Legacy/Exilis Ultra treatments. A VASER hi definition procedure would give you the best results for body shaping and contour. Like most noninvasive treatments, the success really depends on choosing the right patient and undergoing the right number of treatments. A consultation would be best to determine if you are a candidate but for mild to moderate areas of stubborn fat, this is a wonderful treatment. You sound like you are a perfect candidate as you are working out, and eating well but still have stubborn areas- we find those are the best patients for this. 

Sculpsure works best in areas of stubborn fat not improved with diet and exercise. If you had previous liposuction in the areas you want to improve with sculpsure, the results will probably be less because of previous scar tissue formation with the liposuction. If there are new areas of fat, sculpture will work well.

Sculpsure works in areas where there is fat below the skin. In some of the areas that you mention, it may be a combination of a little fat with loose skin.  There is mild tightening of skin with sculpsure but it is not a skin tightening procedure. If indeed there is fat in these areas, Sculpsure may be an appropriate procedure assuming you have normal sensation of the skin in the area to be treated.  Evaluation by a doctor will allow you to determine the appropriateness of the treatment for you. 

You are describing very common areas which people like to treat. Lipo for those areas is very tricky and complicated and requires downtime and you missing gym for a few weeks to months due to limited mobility. SculpSure is a total body custom treatment to target ares of stubborn fat and has absolutely ZERO downtime and works for an appropriate candidate.  I strongly advise you got os someone who performs SculpSure daily in order to design an appropriate treatment for you and use appropriate settings.  Best of luck.  Dr.Avaliani

In my practice, we satisfactorily treat many patients with SculpSure who have had liposuction in the past. With the new FDA clearance for your areas of concern you should certainly reach out to an office near you for a consultation. Expect to 2 to 3 sessions per area as SculpSure is best indicated for clients who are near ideal weight.
