Weight gain and extremely thirsty after SculpSure?

I have Sculptsure done two days ago. For the past two days, I have been extremely thirsty, constantly drinking water and urinate. I also gained a few pounds without changing my diet and life routine. Is this normal? Am I getting diabetes because of the procedure? Thanks.

No, SculpSure cannot cause diabetes, but your symptoms bear checking out.  I would go to your doctor to test your blood and urine for hyperglycemia, and perhaps a HbA1c to see if you have been pre-diabetic.

First, Sculpsure does not cause diabetes, so don't worry. It is very common to be thirsty following your treatment which is important in helping your body get rid of the excess fat cells. When drinking a lot of water, you may notice some weight gain that is artificial and temporary.

No, Sculpsure won't cause diabetes, but increased thirst and/or swelling can be common after treatment. The swelling may last for 3-6 months after Sculpsure. If you're concerned, I recommend following up with your Doctor for a formal evaluation. A combination of treatments is needed for best results with Sculpsure. I recommend combining Sculpsure or coolsculpting with Vanquish and Venus Legacy/Exilis Ultra treatments. A VASER hi definition procedure would give you the best results with fat removal and athletic definition but would require more downtime. No need to worry. Feeling thirsty after a SculpSure treatment is very common. Keep yourself hydrated. As for the weight gain, as long as you are continuing with a healthy diet and exercise you will not gain weight. There can be extra weight gain when consuming fluids, no need to worry the body will release the fluids and the water weight will decrease.

After a SculpSure treatment your body craves water because it it utilizing your lymphatic system to aid in flushing the fat that is being destroyed. When drinking excess water you will see not only excess urination but also a bit of swelling that can cause weight gain. Not to worry! This is only temporary and is perfectly normal and it is not causing diabetes.

It is important to drink a lot of water after your SculpSure treatment so stay hydrated. If the thirst continues even when you up your water intake then you may need to have that checked out, but my guess is that this is all just part of your body's inflammatory response to the treatment. And I wouldn't worry about a couple of pounds of weight gain. It's going to take anywhere from 6-13 weeks for the swelling to completely diminish. Hope this helps.

SculpSure is a light treatment (Laser). The wavelength of light damages the fat cells.  Recovery will entail some inflammation, but not weight gain.  Diabetes needs a medical exam and blood or urine tests.

Hello, thank you for your question.  I advise my clients that they can experience some swelling at the 2 week mark secondary to the inflammatory process.  The procedure should not cause an increase in thirst but I do advise clients to drink water and exercise to allow the lymphatic system to be more effiecient.
