The office is very nice, welcoming and the girls that work there understand what you need as a woman. I have had botox there for many years and a year ago I had twins so I have been doing SculpSure since February this year. I am loving the difference in my body. I like that they take pictures each time so you can see the difference and I also notice it on my clothes.
Thank you for your question Eva! Botox is not the best option for a lift around the jawline. Botox actually works by decreasing the size of the masseter (jaw) muscle which can in turn loosen the skin depending on how large the muscle was to begin with. On the other hand, dermal fillers can be used to lift the skin around the jawline. It will depend on how loose the skin is around the jawline. An experienced injector will be able to tell you if it will be a good option for you specifically.
Thank you for your question. If your masseter hypertrophy was caused by clentching of the jaw or grinding your teeth at night, it will take some time for you to rebuild the size the masseter muscle. In my experience, the results of botox tend to last a little longer when injected into the masseter for most patients. The botox is no longer working at 3-4 months, but it may take another 1-2 months to rebuild the muscle.
Thank you for your question. Dysport takes 10 days to take full effect (a little faster than Botox, which takes up to two weeks). Often patients will start to see results after only a few days, but I also have patients that don't see results until day 10. I always recommend that new patients schedule a follow up in two weeks, so we can see how well the treatment worked and can touch up as needed. How much you will be able to "scrunch" your face will depend on how many units were injected. Hang in there!
Thank you for your question Scarlett! First off, you have a beautiful smile. I have corrected many asymmetrical lips with lip filler, but it is important to evaluate the entire face and how it moves. If your lips are asymmetrical at rest (not smiling), then it is likely that lip filler would help a lot. If you lips are only asymmetrical when smiling, then it may be a muscular issue. In this case you may need some botox as well. This can be a slightly more complicated case, so please be sure to go to a Doctor, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner that has a lot of experience with injectables.
Thank you for your question. Assuming that enough botox was injected you should see results at two weeks. You have to be careful with masseter Botox. If too much is injected you won't be able to chew properly, so it is better to break it up over multiple treatments instead of over doing it. In my experience, most patients with masseter hypertrophy (enlargement) require at least 20 units per side. I also put a small amount of this into the temporalis muscle (muscle near your temple that you will feel buldge when you clench). Patients who have severe masseter hypertrophy may need up to 40 per side. I have seen many practitioners injecting much less than this and it will cause the patient to have minimal results. If you don't see the results you're looking for in 2 weeks and can still clench your jaw tightly, you probably need more. Although it may take some time, most patients are very happy once they see the desired results. Generally, you will not need as much at your next treatment, if you keep up with touch ups every 3-4 months.
