Volbella is a very soft and natural-feeling dermal filler, so if your lips feel firm, it’s probably due to swelling. Why we advise the swelling usually dissipates within two weeks, that’s based on an average of patients. Individually, you may have a different experience, especially if you are sensitive or the injections weren’t performed with finesse. It’s possible that you were overfilled, but even so, Volbella should feel soft. My guess is that you are still healing. Give yourself another week. If your lips still feel too firm, consult with the board-certified dermatologist who treated you. 

Thank you for sharing your question and congratulations on your lip augmentation.  Depending on the amount of material placed into your lips it is not uncommon for stiffness to persist for up to four weeks after treatment.  Assuming you do not have any other issues taking place, such as a discrete lump or bump, this stiffness should resolve spontaneously over the next couple of weeks.  Hope this helps.

Fullness of the lips created by a hyaluronic acid may be perceived as stiffness. It is a thick gel and it is injected into very small area. That's why it creates the feeling. 

Typically this should resolve completely within two weeks after injections.  If there was significant internal bleeding/bruising maybe it would last another week or so.  Volbella is a very soft product and if the stiffness continues I would have your provider take another look after 3-4 weeks.
