After the injections I have raised lines leading down to m lips I just wanted the lines around my lips filled in Will this go away? It is worse than when I went i
Answer: I had Juvederm Volbella last Thursday to fill lines around my mouth, now they are raised, will this go away? (photos) Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Volbella is quite thin and rarely leads to any sizable lump or mass. Most likely these raised areas are the result of tissue swelling and should improve over another 7-10 days. hang in there!

Answer: Swelling after Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella) This may be due to swelling, which will resolve in 1-2 weeks. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Patience I understand your frustration - we all want results immediately as we get so excited to finally get filler. Even though Volbella is a great filler for this area as it is very soft and doesn't swell as much as other fillers, there is still some swelling that occur in the first few weeks. It doesn't look like you have significant bruising so it is more likely something that you just need to give time. The other possibility is that the irregularity could be due to movement of the underlying perioral muscles, so sometimes adding a small amount of Botox safely around the upper lip can relax the muscle improving the appearance of the vertical lines. So I would suggest follow up with your provider in approximately 2 weeks to have a reassessment of the area. Wish you the best!

Answer: Etched in Lip Lines Vertical or etched in lip lines are common and are often treated with resurfacing lasers and microneedling to restore normal collagen to dermal matrix. Another popular treatment is combining Botox injections with microdroplet filler. Popular fillers in this area are Restylane Silk, Volbella and Belotero. It is important the injector uses very small threads (linear threading) or small drops directly into the dermis under the line and also in a crosshatch or scaffold to provide optimal support. Your raised lines may settle down over two weeks but if they don't, a small amount of the volbella can be removed with an enzyme called Hylenex or Vitrase. Be sure your provider is aware it takes three times the amount of hyaluronidase to remove volbella as it does restylane silk. Meanwhile, you can do gentle massage twice a day to help the filler integrate into the dermis.

Answer: Not to Worry You may still be swollen from the injections, especially if you have any bruising. With any filler injection, swelling can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks after the procedure. After 4 weeks, if the lip lines still look swollen they can be treated with hyaluronidase to dissolve the excess filler. If you are unsatisfied with the appearance of the filler, another great and alternative option would be to treat your lip lines with 3-6 sessions of microneedling.
