Which would work best for me, CoolSculpting or a laser treatment to get rid of my hanging abdomen?

Coolsculpting wouldn't address the skin laxity which would require a tummy tuck and skin removal. I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction, which can be performed at the same time. The best option for you would be a surgical procedure, such as abdominoplasty or a tummy tuck. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing your goals and options.

Coolsculpting will remove fat from the area, but will not tighten skin. Surgical options are really your only choice for what you are trying to accomplish.

While coolsculpting is an excellent nonsurgical alternative to remove pinchable fat, it is not appropriate for loose and excess skin. Consult in person with an experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeon to understand your options.

Coolsculpting would help reduce the fat in the area, though reduce the laxity of the skin, surgery would be your best option. Perhaps consult a plastic surgeon in your area and see what finance options are available. 

CoolSculpting is not the best tool for someone with really loose or damaged (stretch marks) skin.  Removing the underlying fat can help some of the skin contract just because your taking away some of the weight.  Furthermore, CoolSculpting can help with skin tightening, but that's to a very limited extent.  Loose or damaged skin won't contract and may become more obvious with nonsurgical body contouring.  The best thing for you to do would be to talk to a plastic surgeon to discuss what options are available to you.  Good luck with your search.  

Congratulations on your weight loss! Coolsculpting would help with any fat in the area and tighten the skin slightly in areas being treated so it would not be worse but unfortunately a surgical option is really the only thing for that much excess skin and laxity.  Consider a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options --they may be much less complicated than you think.  Best of luck.
