I had one session done on my flanks and stomach 2 1/2 months ago but I still have a small pinchable area on my stomach that I want to get rid of. When I went to my 2 month follow up the doctor said to wait the full 3 months to see if it goes down more but it hasn't. She mentioned something about getting lumps or ripping if you do too much. How is that possible and is it possible? Have you seen this in any of your patients?

Answer: Improving Coolsculpting Results with Radiofrequency, Thermage, Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra Yes, people usually need multiple sessions of Coolsculpting to get desired results and it works best in combination with other treatments. I recommend adding a combination of radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. In our practice, we use a Fire and Ice treatment of Coolsculpting with Vanquish and are getting great results. VASER with ThermiRF are a great alternative. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Can you overdo CoolSculpting? In my experience with CoolSculpting, I have not seen patients develop lumps or rippling after treatment. I have found that most patients need between 1-3 sessions to obtain the desired result, so it would not be unusual to have a second treatment to the abdomen.
