Having a secondary procedure it will take longer to see the final results from the scar tissue that is present.  You appear to have developed significant scar tissue or the area has been aggressively over contoured.  The best thing to do at this point is massage the area, lymphatic masseuse 3X a week for 2 weeks and also some external RF device such as thermi smooth to tighten the skin.  It will take up to 6 months to see the final results

Since you are only one month out from your procedure there is still inflammation and healing taking place beneath the skin. What you see right now is not necessarily what your permanent result will look like. I encourage massage at this point to help smooth out the underlying areas of induration. Discussion with your surgeon is recommended to see what his/her recommendations are. Best wishes. 

It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You will have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. Lymphatic massage and venus legacy treatments can give improvement. Keep in mind, Smart Lipo needs a combination approach to get the best results. I recommend adding thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is an alternative for contouring the chin, but would require more downtime. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. I definitely appreciate your concern, especially as this was a follow-up procedure to an earlier liposuction that left you dissatisfied with your results. However, even on a small target area like a double chin, it still takes several weeks to a few months or more before you'll see your final contours. Try to relax and let your body heal, and check back with your surgeon if you haven't seen the results you'd hoped for by about 6 months after your Smartlipo™.

There may still be inflammation present in the skin, since it has only been one month since the procedure. However, massaging the area should help with some of the hardened tissue. I would speak to your provider about further treatment options. Best of luck!

It looks like some hardened tissue that should be massaged to help it resolve.  We recommend this routinely after lipo and have had great results.Talk to your surgeon about this.  You will want to avoid deposits of scar tissue that can slow recovery.  You will also want to address the loose skin with him/her as soon as possible.

i would have you massage the area for just a few minutes 2 times per day. i would also have you wait 5-6 months before considering doing anything further. it is very early on in the healing phase and it is impossible to predict what will happen with more time. it is not unusual for things to look not right, early on, and then with time to improve.good luckdavid berman md

At one month it is very common to have wrinkled skin and tightness or hard areas.  This will continue to improve with time, and can take several months to get the final results.It also appears that you have some platysmal bands which can be softened with Botox.I would recommend massages and some type of skin tightening procedure.  I use PelleFirm RF after lipo to help benefit the final results.Good luck to you,Dr. Powell
