I had Smart Lipo 9 months ago and I still have soreness.

Question

I had my stomach and flanks treated. I have a hard knot where fluid had to be drained with a needle. When I push in on my sides, it's sore and tender. Is this normal 9 months post op?

By 9 months you should be healed unless the seroma that was drained created a scar with a seroma pocket. That could be remedied only by direct surgical removal. Your surgeon should be able to explain the reasons for your problem. Good luck.

Thank you for this question. Soreness lasting 9 months is not common with surgical procedures, let alone SmartLipo. I’d recommend following up with your Surgeon to evaluate your soreness and to prevent any further complications. Good luck!

Hello,9 months soreness is extremely long time. It sounds you have gone through some trouble after smart lipo.I hope you have been to your physician and have had evaluation. If there is any chance for seroma (Accumulation of fluid) then it should have been resolved after few days post lipo. See your physician and in person evaluation would be most beneficial.Best -- Dr Ray
