Skin darkening after kenalog shot?

I would use Melarase + cream for your pigmentation on the keloid. This is likely from post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and can be improved with Melarase creams twice daily.

Thank you for your question. Since the scars are flattening, you know the kenalog is doing its job. Sometimes after an injection, there is some inflammation, which sometimes causes darkening. You should treat this as a bruise- you can use arnica; avoid wine, fish oil, and aspirin; and you can even use a laser if desired. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for your question.  The dark spots sound like you have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).After a personal consultation, we would probably recommend the PicoSure Laser with the FOCUS and or Flat Lens for pigment and texture correction.  PicoSure is one of the gentlest treatments with very good results and is safe for all skin types.  Depending on the severity of the pigment and scars, it will probably take 3 to 6 treatments.  For a more intense treatment on just for the scaring, you could do a series of fractional 1540nm laser resurfacing with a facility that has experience with darker skin.  Look for brand names like ICON or Fraxel.  Best of luck.
