I have a big hole on my nose tip, this is due to chicken pox. I had chicken pox at the age of 14 and now i am 24 but this hole shrinked only 20%. What is the best method to adopt now? I don't wanna do the filling process
Answer: Indentation scar on the nose I would use a combination of fractional RF, subcision, injection fillers, and fractional laser to help reduce the indentation on the nose.Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon

Answer: Depressed scar Thank you for your question. There are many ways to approach and treat a depressed scar from a scar or in your case from chicken pox. I recommend microneedling with PRP and possible dermabrasion first and if that doesnt work then I would use filler but a combined approch is the best!

Answer: Improving a chicken pox scar on the nose Choice for procedures would be based on the depth of the scar. Based on your photo, your scar appears medium depth, and dermabrasion (NOT microdermabrasion) looks to be the best option. Deeper scars often require surgical revision, essentially cutting out the scar and stitching the hole together. Fractional laser or microneedling/micropenning might be beneficial to further improve your scar after one of the above treatments, but is usually not our first line of treatment. Shallow and subtle scars are more often considered candidates for fractional laser or microneedling/micropenning treatments. People often get microdermabrasion and dermabrasion mixed up. Microdermabrasion is more of an exfoliating type of procedure with minimal downtime. Dermabrasion tends to be much more aggressive, a procedure where we are essentially sanding down the skin to a raw surface. We typically focus on treating the skin around the scar, not the scar itself. This allows us to smooth down the skin around the scar to blend it in. Wound care typically involves bandaging the wound for 5-7 days. The skin may then be red or pink for an extended period of time. Makeup can usually cover the redness until it fades away. Hope this helps!
