Would a lip lift and chin implant balance out my face? (Photo)

Question

I have a wide and long philtrum and not much of a chin. I was wondering if I'm a good candidate for both? Or would a chin implant and a couple of lip fillers do the trick? Also the lines by my mouth are those due to my philtrum size?

Thank you for your question and photo. Everything is about proportion. When I perform any of my lip lifts I ask my patient whether they want conservative or "more sexy" result. A properly performed lip lift using deep support (OOS lift) to resist the effects of gravity as well as the hundreds of thousands of movements that occur around the lips per day (through eating, expressing, talking and kissing) can profoundly change not only your lips that also your facial proportions.Based on the photos you provide, a small chin implant would definitely give you improved aesthetic ratios to your face and a lip lift would just complement that.

Thank you for your question. You are correct to note that the facial features work as a complement to one another. The most ideal angle between the nose and the upper lip, also called the nasolabial angle, should be between 95 to 110 degrees and the base of the nose should fall within the plane of two lines drawn perpendicular from the inner aspect of each eye. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.

Thank you for your question and helpful photos. I do believe you would benefit with both a lip lift and a chin implant.  Reducing the space between the base of your nose and the top of your upper lip should soften "the lines" by your mouth. I'm afraid fillers will not give you the results you are looking for. Augmenting volume to your upper lip will not shorten the appearance of the philtrum length. I hope this helps.
