Hello, I had liposuction of the abdomen and flanks 8 months ago. Mostly it feels like it is healing well, but i have a lot of scar tissue up my left side that becomes stiff and not quite painful but annoying, and affects my mobility. I worry that it is squishing my organs and could potentially, if not already, cause a problem. Should i be worried, and is there anyway that i can treat this?
Answer: Can scar tissue post liposuction cause any damage to organs? Thank you for your question. The answer is no. Scarring can and does occur in the areas of treatment. Early massage and stretching of these areas are encouraged to help the internal scar rearrange in the normal tension lines. If you had a lot of bruising or bleeding with your liposuction (very unusual) then you can expect more scarring. Sometimes it takes a year or longer to get back to normal. Discuss this with your plastic surgeon. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: Can scar tissue post liposuction cause any damage to organs? Liposuction is not related to intra abdominal organs since the fat is right under the skin, the most probable is you have scar tissue in that site. massaging and ultrasound could help. But let your plastic surgeon know about this.Best wishes.

Answer: Liposuction recovery Scar tissue can form after liposuction and sometimes feels like firm areas, stiff areas, or tight areas. The beast thing to do is work on massaging and stretching the soft tissues in those areas. It should continue to get a bit better for you, but you are getting close to your final result and full recovery. Best to have close follow up with your plastic surgeon to make sure things are on the right track. The areas treated with liposuction are quite far away from your internal organs, ie they are separated by many layers of tissue and muscle. That is a very rare complication fro liposuction and would typically. present much differently.
