I hate this hump of fat above my butt and even as I’ve been losing weight it’s just getting more and more pronounced it gives my butt a hideous shape!! How can I get rid of it?

Liposuction of that area is usually very effective and can make a major difference in the appearance of the lower back and buttocks.

It appears that this area would respond well to liposuction however the area needs to be evaluated carefully by your surgeon in the office with complete history and physical before making a decision for liposuction.

The fullness over your lower back is a combination of skin laxity and exes subcutaneous fat.

Some people have fat over the sacrum and others do not.

Weight fluctuations cost of skin laxity that causes areas to bulge in certain places. This is true of the lower abdomen and the lower back.

Liposuction will help to some degree but skin laxity will probably still cost area the bulge.

Most likely the best contour results would come from a wraparound tummy tuck a.k.a. lower body lift after sufficient weight loss.

Liposuction may help to some degree but like I said there is most likely has a skin component that will not be treated by just liposuction.

Dear Cute215677, the area that you are referring to in the picture is the hip area on women and flanks on men. It creates the "muffin top" or "love handle" look when wearing pants and can be seen under dresses or tight clothing. If the contour is mostly fatty (as it often is) you can improve it with liposuction. The areas of the back can also be contoured to improve your shape. Being at your optimal weight is ideal, but even higher BMI patients can benefit from a change in contour if they are realistic about the result. Your procedure may have to be staged because of the limit of the amount of local anesthesia that is safe to use at one session. Find an experienced board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in higher BMI patients. Good Luck!
