Had a BBL August 2020. Wanted to really fill the noticeable dips on upper buttocks. I’m now almost 3 months post op and the right dip is still there. Will more fat grafting solve this? Can you even tell I had a BBL? I’m disappointed I spent all this money and went through the pain and feels as tho I can’t see any difference My doctor wants to do a minor procedure for more fat grafting once we hit the 3 month mark. Do I have enough fat, Should I wait longer?
Answer: More fat grafting? BBL? Hello, thank you for your question. A physical examination is required, having the BBL done a second time is an option as long as you have enough fat to be transferred. The revision implies that there is less fat than the first time, and scar tissue will make the surgery much more difficult on the surgeon. The percentage of fat survival in the BBL the second time should be about the same as the first.

Answer: Irregularities after fat grafting It is very hard to comment on postoperative result without preoperative photos. Loss of fat grafts in certain areas due to poor graft take may be experienced in every fat graft transfer; it is usually asymmetric, as in your case. Consecutive scarring after fat graft resorption may leave deformity like yours. It would be in your best interest to wait at least 1 year after surgery until current result and deformity mature. Only when problem is well defined, correction may be attempted with new fat grafting; it may take several corrections to achieve desired goal. Good luck.

Answer: More BBL for right buttock dip? Probably the most important question to discern is what is the cause of your buttock dips? Have they just developed over time, from trauma/surgery, or have you had them your entire life? Additionally, are you also hoping for a bit of buttock augmentation and increase in projection at the same time or are you just concerned about filling in the dip? Once these questions are answered clearly then a discussion to can begin whether more fat grafting or a totally different technique may serve you best. If you’re looking for overall buttock augmentation and projection, you would be best served with the more reliable, predictable, and permanent result of buttock implants. Glad to be of help.

Answer: BBL results Dear Gorgeous560196, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery. Answer: BBL Revision It is highly recommended to wait 6 months to a year for your body to heal from the previous surgeries. If you are still not satisfied with the results, then a BBL Revision may be an option for you. The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
