I would not say that this is normal. But it would be difficult to know if the muscle spasms are related to your implants or not without an exam or more information. If the implants are still soft, in normal position, and symmetric, then it is still hard to know what might be going on. If the implants have become hardened, asymmetric, or in a different anatomic position than before, then it would be more likely to be cause by the implants and a revision procedure may offer some relief.
Hello, thank you for your question. Unusual to say why this occurring after 11 years from your surgery. I think a proper consult and physical examination with your plastic surgeon or family doctor would be necessary to rule out other issues that can possibly be causing this.
Dear sepederson,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
No, muscle spasms starting now is not normal and may be a sign of a capsule. I would suggest being checked by a plastic surgeon and even getting a mammagram and/or ultrasound.
It is not common for muscle spasms to occur eleven years after breast augmentation. It is best to visit with your surgeon for an exam. If you have recently started a new exercise regime or suffered an injury this could be a culprit.
More information is needed and a physical exam. Injury happens, rib or muscle. Time usually resolves it.See your surgeon. You may be able to pinpoint the spot yourself. Usually about rib 4 or 5 under your implants. Good luck.
