Hello, is there specific garments anyone recommends or has tried when doing a breast augmentation combined with lipo of the axillary roll (armpit bulge)? Worried of the compression bra & strap used for breast augmentation would cut into the area that was lipo’d.
Answer: Recommended compression garments for breast aug + lipo of armpit roll? Hello, And thank you for the question. Regular surgical bra or snug sports bra is usually sufficient for breast augmentation with liposuction of the axilla. Sometimes foam sheets can be added for additional compression of the area that was liposuctioned to help minimize the swelling. Additionally, lymphatic massages help as well. I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Breast surgeries to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations. I hope this helps.Good luck! Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Garments and lipo Hello, thank you for your question. That is a difficult area to compress. Perhaps you can try an ace wrap to the area. We sometimes refer our patients to the following website for certain procedures. You can also begin to massage the area. Rebecca10 for 10% off if you decide this will help.

Answer: Compression garments Your surgeon will be able to help you select an appropriate compression garment for you based on your surgical procedure. There are many styles of garments including "shirt" style that may work. Compression should be even and supportive, but not tight.

Answer: Recommended compression garments for breast aug + lipo of armpit roll? Thank you for sharing your question. In most cases the bra garment should be sufficient, but remember that ultimately a garment's purpose is to limit swelling, it will not impact your surgical results.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear kayjazz, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.
