I'm 6 years post tummy tuck. I have a hump at the top of my stomach under my breast. It wasn't there right after surgery, but start forming a couple days later, I asked my surgery why did this happen and what needs to be done. All he said was it will go down. Well six years later its still there. It looks crazy from the side view. What procedure should I do revision tummy tuck or just lipo. I don't want to waste any more money so getting the right procedure to get rid of is my goal.
Answer: Bulge of upper abdomen after TT Based on these photos it is very likely fat tissue that was not aggressively removed during TT. However, abdominal wall bulge due to weakness of abdominal wall (diastasis, hernia) should be considered as well. Only on the basis of in person consultation surgeon can make proper diagnosis and present plan of treatment. A second opinion consult with another board certified plastic surgeon should be considered. Good luck.

Answer: Abdomen You need an examination to see if this is fat which can be treated with liposuction, a weak muscle which will need to be tightened, an old seroma which will need to be removed, or something internal. An abdominal ultrasound would be helpful.

Answer: The issue can be resolved by ... Hello:This is most likely due to the absence of muscle plication in the upper abdomen, or, if it was performed, the stitching may have torn or caused a rupture in the muscle, leading to a loss of its effectiveness. The issue can be resolved by either redoing the muscle repair or performing a mesh repair, followed by the use of an abdominal binder for 2-3 months for support.

Answer: Abdominal contour It's difficult to tell from photos alone. This could be some excess fat which could be improved with liposuction. It could be visceral fat in which case weight loss would improve it. The other option is that there is abdominal wall laxity. This would be corrected through a tummy tuck revision. I welcome you to visit us in our Houston office to discuss your options.

Answer: Hump on Upper Abdomen Sometimes tightening of the lower abdominal muscles can cause this issue. It can also be from excess fat. The options are to essentially re-do the tummy tuck, or see if liposuction alone could help. For sure see an experienced surgeon as these cases can be challenging to diagnose and treat
