I have been seeing doctors for gynecomastia but don’t want the long scars as I already have some from tummy tuck. They have been giving me hybrid gynecomastia options to avoid large scars but I want as many opinions virtually as possible. I also had a tummy tuck which has caused my flanks to be wide making my back super large and not match from stomach. Who has previously performed flankplasty using previous tummy tuck scar efficiently?
Answer: Opinions on gynecomastia/revision on tummy tuck Dear twhitman, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Upper Body Transformation Hello! Your upper body could look very good if you have combined surgeries to fix the problematic areas. Yes you do need gynecomastia but after the extra fat is taken, you also need a breast lift to free you from the extra skin. In the same surgery, 360 degrees liposuction must be performed which means the fat on the sides, and back will be gone.

Answer: What weight loss patients need Successful massive weight loss patients need skin surgery and when in doubt more skin surgery. Your tummy tuck should have been scheduled as an extended or wraparound tummy tuck a.k.a. body lift. there should be no shortage of plastic surgeons who can convert your previous tell me tuck to a wraparound tummy tuck. Skin laxity is your primary problem on your chest and back and there’s no alternative if you want an improved contour but I had scars with skin excision. any compromise trying to leave you with shorter scores will compromise the outcome. I seriously doubt glandular breast tissue or affect our predominant variables causing fullness in your chest. Weight loss patients should have extensive skin excision‘s first and foremost. Nobody likes big Scarr‘s but if you want the correct contour you have to deal with a primary problem in your case that is skin laxity. Find plastic surgeons who can do a male chest lift well and stick with them. Limited scar just procedures will leave you disappointed. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Gynecomastia/flank plasty Thank you for your question and photos. Gynecomastia surgery has come a long way over the years. We now employ a technique that hides the 1 inch scar in the axilla or armpit and keeps the chest free of any scarring at all. From the incision the surgeon can still perform liposuction and directly excise the subareolar glandular component to completely treat the gynecomastia. The advantage is not having a scar around the areola that can heal unpredictably and attract the eye. As for the flank issue. Completing a 360 tummy tuck, that is extending the tummy tuck incisions to the midline of the back( along with some liposuction) will allow you to remove that flank skin that is bothersome to you and get those jeans to fit with out spillover!Your concerns are certainly reasonable and attainable. Consult with a Board Certified plastic surgeon in your are and discuss your concerns.Best wishesDr. Morrissey
