I had a tummy tuck, lipo and fat transfer about 3 years ago. In the crease on my hip and thigh I get a burning/stinging sensation. I had lipo in other areas also but this is the only area that I feel the burning. Is this normal?

Answer: Burning sensation after surgery I don’t think any plastic surgeon will be able to pinpoint the underlying cause or give you good treatment options for this. Most patients do not with long-term chronic pain issues after cosmetic surgery but one out of 100 or so will have an ongoing a chronic thing that bothers them. You can follow up with your provider but it’s unlikely there’s much they can do. The next step would be to talk to a neurologist or a pain management physician. Having that much surgery is going to inevitably have your body feel different and have some odd sensations some which may be desirable and some which may not. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
