I am in my late 60s and had a face lift, neck lift, and upper and lower blepharoplasty one year ago. I had more bruising and swelling than expected, and both took several months to subside. After a year I still see slight swelling and a bruised look under my eyes. The surgeon tried laser treatments, but I didn't really see any change. I came in with a lot of saggy skin under my chin and neck area after recently losing 50 pounds. The neck lift was difficult for me. I had a lot of swelling that lasted months. In fact, even at a year out I can still get occasional tightness in my neck glands. After the neck lift I now have an area of sagging and more work that needs to be done. I am not happy with the results, nor is my surgeon. He has offered to do a revision without charge to me. I paid a hefty charge for the surgery, and I'm not sure what to do. I like my surgeon. He seems to do great work for everyone else and is well respected. Also, I don't want to have to pay the same fee to have another surgeon correct his work. I'm truly in a dilemma about my next step, and I am losing confidence in my doctor. I cannot take anti-inflammatory medications. Perhaps that caused the slow healing. I'm not sure. I'm nervous to go through the process again, but I don't want my under eyes and neck to look like this after paying for them to be fixed. Do you think this was something specific to my anatomy or healing process, or should I find a new surgeon? I need advice.
