It seems like your doctor is going about things in a very appropriate way. The lump could be a number of things, including fat necrosis, and possibly can be removed through an existing scar. Hang in there with your surgeon!

You may have a cyst, an organized seroma, or in that area your abdominal muscle sutures came apart and you are protruding through. Either way, it could be fixed most likely in the office with s small incision.

Hello; most likely, it is caused by seroma; that formed in the lower abdomen; a mass. There may be liquid inside or maybe not. Ultimately, what needs to be excised; a mass that will not disappear on its own.

It's difficult to determine what the lump could be without an examination. You are doing the correct thing by visiting with your surgeon who can further advise you. An ultrasound or other tests may be needed. If it is a cyst your surgeon can excise it.
