Discoloration after thigh lipo. Will it go away as I heal? (Photo)

 Some liposuction is assisted by a laser or the skin is purposely damaged for the purposes of tightening. Occasionally patients will have protracted hyperpigmentation.

It's still too early during the healing process...most patients are bruised and this can lead to the prolonged discoloration. Continue wearing your compression garment and just let your body heal...it can take a good 6 months to a year to see your final results. Good luck!

Yes-  pigment changes in the skin is very normal after liposuction from bruising that will improve over time with healing. Continue close follow up with your plastic surgeon and adhere to the post operative instructions to achieve your best result. 

Hard to see i posted photo. The staining is hemosiderin stains from bleeding. 50% resolve over 6 months but some become permanent. See your surgeon for better in person explanation. Sometimes laser therapy helps or external Radio Frequency therapy (ieThermiSmooth RF) (fee each session $300) Good Luck.. 

There are generally two issues that can cause discoloration from liposuction.One is the initial bruising, which usually is gone by 10 to 15 days.The small skin openings will also have some color changes.
