I am one week post-op of liposuction of my pubic mound. My surgeon said no compression, and I complained about the swelling so he said for me to use spanx. This swelling is driving my crazy, I feel like a man. What kind of garment should I look for? When should I expect for all the swelling to go away? and I work 40 hours a week, at a job where I stand all of my shift. Will this increase swelling? Thank you

The gross swelling of the area suction will probably resolved within about six weeks. Over the subsequent   few months additional modest improvement will occur. The benefit of a compressive garment is debatable.

The mons pubis is somewhat notorious for swelling after liposuction. This often continues into the labia majoras. Most surgeons use pressure garments after liposuction. Spanx often do not have enough pressure. That said, it's also an anatomic area that's difficult on which to put isolated pressure.
