Hit in chest after breast augmentation. Could it have caused a rupture?

The weight and density of the implement as well as the force with which it was thrown will all affect whether the silicone implants were likely to rupture.  You did not state whether it was a medicine ball, shot put or other implement.  Best to see your PS if the pain continues; he/she may order an MRI.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

aarivera530. I appreciate your concern, however it takes a significant blow to the chest to rupture a silicone or saline breast implant. Having said that, I have had patients rupture implants after car accidents from the seatbelt and during kickboxing! For that reason follow up with your plastic surgeon and if there is any doubt, ultrasound of the breast will be helpful. It will best to consult your surgeon on this matter and have your surgeon examine you physically.
