A patient on this site had a revision from silicone to ideal implants. She complained that the ideal implant felt heavier and removed them.
Answer: Are Ideal Implants heavier than gel implants?? Ask Dr Ellen Gel, Saline and Ideal are all very similar in weight and if the new Ideal implants were the same size as her gel, the difference should not be noticeable. However, if she had additional volume added, there would be a difference.It's challenging to draw conclusions from all some of the remarks and comments on forums such as this when all of the information is not available to review!My patients are loving the Ideal!In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD

Answer: Ideal implant hello chicagobulls23The Ideal Implant™ was recently FDA approved and is now being offered at our facility, Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery Newport Beach. Some women are not comfortable having silicone implants in their body and that was one of the reasons why the Ideal Implant was created. This implant gives a more natural feeling than traditional saline implants on the market. The unique structure of the Ideal Implant allows for a similar look and feel as silicone with the safety of saline.

Answer: Ideal Implants The weight difference between the Ideal and traditional saline implants is miniscule. The weight will depend on the volume of saline used to fill the implants; thus the implants weight the same if filled with equal volumes.

Answer: Weight of Ideal Implants vs silicone gel I have not found that the Ideal Implants are heavier than gel. Perhaps the patient you referred to had larger implants placed which would of course be heavier.

Answer: Are the ideal implants heavier than saline implants? Thank you for your question. Ideal implants are saline implants that offer a greater degree of structure and support. Because of this increased support it has less of a saline feel and more of a gel feel with the safety profile of a saline implant. They are not heavier than the traditional saline implants.
