Thankyou beth84 for your question. I would suggest an in person consultation. Basedon your history and photograph, you may have other medical conditions. Oncethese medical conditions are eliminated the area that you have described mighthave to be treated with topical cream or lasers. It is difficult to give a accuratediagnosis without an in-office examination. Please seek a board certifiedplastic surgeon or dermatologist. If youhave any questions feel free to contact my office. Good luck. Sincerely,J.Timothy Katzen, M.D.
Spider veins and blushing can be treated with a combination of injection sclerotherapy and laser. Our office is the leading vein center in Los Angeles and we have several options available to treat facial veins. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian
Fine facial veins as your picture shows are a chronic problem but there are may options for treatment including IPL, various topical lasers and even fine needle radio frequency. It is important to remember that multiple treatments are necessary as well as maintenance.
Hi Beth,These little red veins that appear on your cheek are called threadveins. Thread veins are actually very tiny blood vessels that run close to thesurface of the skin and look like fine wiggly lines. The medical term for themis telangiectasia. I would recommend that you look into vascular laser, whichis a highly effective minimally invasive treatment. Laser light penetrates the outer layers of skin reaching the bloodvessels below. Targeted blood vessels soak up all of the energy in the beam andare destroyed by the brief but intense heat. The body removes the damagedtissue naturally.Hope this helps and good luck!Dr. Ariel Ostad
That is an excellent question. You are not alone. Facial veins are very common. There are a number of lasers which can be used. IPL/intensed pulse light, pulsed dye laser, 532/KTP or a YAG laser can be used. It's more important to find someone who's experienced with lasers. Rather than someone that has a particular laser. You can get great results with all of the lasers. It's just important to find someone that's good. I would recommend seeing a board-certified dermatologist.Wish you the best.Dr. Daniel Radin, Dermatologist, Windsor, ON, Canada.
When the appropriate settings are used on the right skin type, IPL can be very effective in improving the appearance of redness and blood vessels that are quite abundant on your face. Look for an experienced provider.
Hello realselfmember85, thank you for your question. I would suggest that you go in for an in-office examination. Based on your history, and without the aide of photographs or an examination, it sounds like you are left with two options. One option is a laser treatment, which is a relatively...
Hello Laura St, thank you for your question. I do not believe that these medications that you have listed have caused the proliferation of the veins that you described. You should consult the physician that has prescribed you these prescriptions. I would not decrease or stop any medications...
Hello rainbowbow, thank you for your question. Based on your history and photos, I would suggest another round of laser treatment using the Nd:YAG laser. I believe this would be the best course for you. The Nd:YAG is calibrated for maximum absorption by the red blood cell. This can lead to...
Hello Ninairen, thank you for your question. Your situation is not uncommon. The skin is usually thinned after CO2 laser treatments to the face. By thinning the facial skin, this makes facial veins more visible. The CO2 laser is not designed for treatment of face veins. The Nd:YAG laser is...
Thank you for your question. We do not worry about caffeine, but are concerned about Aspirin, Advil, etc., as they can affect the outcome negatively. Enough caffeine could have an effect if it elevated your blood pressure, but short of that I see no major negatives. Afterall, caffeine helps...
