Why are my veins becoming more and more visible?

Hello, Please tell me why are my veins becoming more and more visible, not swollen, just more visible, especially on my arms, forearms, malms of my hand and on both sides of my fingers. I took a treatment with singulair 10mg for 4 months and for almost 3 months I took Asmanex Twisthaler and then Symbicort. I quit Symbicort almost 3 weeks ago and Singulair also about 4 days ago, but my veins seem to become more visible. I am 31 years, female.

Laura St, thank you for your question. I do not believe that these medications
that you have listed have caused the proliferation of the veins that you
described. You should consult the physician that has prescribed you these
prescriptions. I would not decrease or stop any medications without the
approval of your prescribing physician. It is very important that you follow up
with them regarding your medications. In addition I would ask your treating
physician’s opinion regarding your new vein.

is not a fairly typical question that we hear – prominent veins in these areas
should be evaluated first by your primary care doctor to assess your overall
general health and then perhaps to a vascular surgeon if this does not get
better on its own. We need to have you rule out any other systemic concern
first, and then see what the best ways to minimize these are. It probably has
nothing to do with thinning of the skin at your age, so please get an evaluation.

Steroids can cause thinning of the skin and this may be responsible for their prominent appearance in your upper extremities.

Veins carry blood back to the heart and many factors affect the vein size including medications, hormones, heat exposure, levels of activity and exercise, genetics and levels of hydration.  Changes in vein size happens continually.  Your medications are dilators but tend to work in the lung area only.  Perhaps you may have had some venous dilation from these meds.

it could be because your skin is getting lighter during times of less sun. it could be your veins are more dilated and thus contain more blood and thus more visible.drugs, heat, heart, peripheral vascular can all be causes for this.could be in your legs you have early reflux.
