Can I get a hiatal hernia repair with a tummy tuck?

Traditionally these are staged since they are accessed differently. Doing a hiatal hernia repair, usually treated laparoscopically, works by inflating the abdomen. A tummy tuck, however, tightens the abdominal wall and would be difficult to perform if the abdomen is swollen from the air of the laparoscopic procedure. Therefore, we traditionally stage these procedures.

most plastic surgeons would recommend you to get these two procedures separately. Hiatal hernia should be your priority and tummy tuck after that. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
